Amber D.'s Story
Written by Amber's mom Leilanie in October 2008

Amber was born in Orange County CA. at UCI Hospital. She is the only baby girl in our family. I found out I was pregnant on December 10, 2001 and I gave birth to her on January 20, 2002. Believe it or not but....Yes it's true, I didn't know till then. Were so lucky and happy to have her as our daughter.

She grew up very fast, she's in first grade now. She is a good student with good grades and friendly with everybody. She is the type of kid that doesn't choose who she wants to play with, or be her friends. She loves to sing on the karaoke and dance. Loves to see Hannah Montana and never forgets to watch her show, also her cartoons character. She loves her brother and makes him laugh all the time, play with him and even baby sitting, she's good at it too! But of course with supervision. She never forgets to say I Love You mom, dad and Mazen and she gives hugs and goodnight kisses. I know that Amber will be good person when she grows up with good manner and right conduct.

On September 2, 2008 she was not feeling good and had a fever, so I decided to call the school and take her in the clinic. It was found that she had ear infection in her right ear. She was prescribed medication for the fever and antibiotics for her ear. She went back to school after 3 days but she had the fever again that night. We went back to clinic and found out that her left ear was now also infected, so the doctor changed the antibiotics. We finished her medication but nothing had changed. We decided to bring her in ER, they ran a lot of test and after a couple hours they told us that she needed blood. That night they told us that it is possible that she had cancer or Leukemia. September 11,2008 she was diagnosed with LEUKEMIA LYMPHOMA. We didn't know what to do but to cry. I was confused, I don't know how did this could happen, the doctor and his staff then talked to us and explained a lot of things about it. We just hold on together and be strong with our daughter, I ask God for His blessings and be with us all the way. We love her so much, and never stop praying and will never leave her no matter what..... We know she will be getting better soon.
