Autumn G.'s Story
written by mom

Autumn was diagnosed with pre - B ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) on Thursday, April 7,2005 at age 6. Only 2 months after her birthday. Her first symptoms of this disease was when her left side of her jaw was swollen. She was taken to the doctor and he put her on an antibiotic for swollen glands. We then noticed that she was looking a little pale in the face and that she acted a little tired. Then we took her to another doctor to see if there was something going on with her molars. He sent her to Dr. S. who did a biopsy on her left lower gum. She then went back to see Dr. M. where she had blood work done and the only blood count that wasn't normal was her hemoglobin which was a little low. With the initial biopsy the pathologist indicated that it could be lymphoma or leukemia. They then set Autumn up for a doctor appt. at the Pittsburgh Children's Hospital for Tuesday, April 5th, 2005. She was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  She will be done with her chemotherapy treatments in June of 2007.
