Christian S.'s Story
written by mom Amy

Christian was a normal healthy baby up to right before he turned 2 years old.  In September of 2005 Christian had gotten sick at first the Doctor thought it was a stomach virus but for 3 weeks or so he was throwing up everyday.  So when we took him for his 2 year check up the Doctor sent us to Childrens for a CT scan and that is how we found out he had a brain tumor called Anaplastic Ependymoma.

Since Oct. 13th 2005 Christian has gone through one partial resection.  They had gotten about 40% or so of the tumor.  It is wrapped around his brain stem so it is a little tricky in getting it all.  That surgery took eight hours.  He has been through four rounds of Chemotherapy to shrink what is left.   Right now we are waiting to see if he will have another surgery or go to radiation. Through this all we know the best chances for this kind of tumor is to get it all out one way or another.

Christian is heading to St. Jude's to remove the rest of his tumor on March 22, 2006.
