Pyper's Story
written by mom Amanda

On October 07,2006 we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Pyper.  She weighed 7lbs. 6oz. On November 17, 2006 what was thought to be a regular 6 week checkup turned our world upside down as we knew it. We were sent to Atlanta, Georgia (which is 4 and a half hours away from home) to a hospital that we knew nothing about but concidered to be the best in which now I know to be true. Our family now thinks of the staff and nurses as an extended part of our family and they go beyond the call of duty. They are wonderful. On Nov.18,2006 Pyper was diagnosed with Infant Leukemia (ALL) her counts were 398,000 when we got here and she was on the verge of having a stroke and was immediately taken for a complete blood transfusion which had to be done manually because she was too little for Red Cross. Pyper on the outside showed no signs of being sick.  My husband Ricky had to go home to take care of our other children and give them some normal in their lives. Pyper has a brother named Colby who is 15, Tabatha who is 12, McKenzie who is 9 and Dallas who is 9 also, and completly adore her. Ricky hasn't been able to go back to work yet and I work at Hand In Hand Primary School and they have been a great support to my family. I miss my co-workers and the kids in my room. Our immediate family and friendshas been wonderful also we couldn't do it without them. I believe Pyper was sent here for a reason and we just have to wait and see what she has in store for the world. With Gods Grace she will continue to get better.
