Steven's Story

Steven was born in Las Vegas,NV. He was a angel. Quietest baby ever! Steven has a nestagmis, we noticed it when he was six months old. We also noticed he was delayed developmentally. So we were followed by his pediatrician often. Steven was having high fevers so we went to see his pediatrician on July 8,2005 his pediatrician noticed his abdomen was larger on the right side. We were told to go and have ultrasound, x-rays, and CT scan. That's when he was diagnosed with a Wilms tumor Stage 1. Then it was off to Johns Hopkins to remove his kidney and tumor and start chemotherapy. Steven is 3 years old and has had 4 surgeries already. We are followed by genectics, opthamology, and oncology. Genetic testing has come back with abnormalities, MRI has shown an lipoma on his brain as well as scattered lesions. He doesn't talk and he uses a little sign language.

Steven has finished his Chemo and had his port removed now we are looking into genetic syndromes that might be affecting him.
