Quilt squares were made by the Texas Teachers!  Thank you!

Sully's interest is music, each square has a music instrument and the name of a composer on it!

A Thank You From Sully's Family!

OH!!  I MUST say thank you to LOVE QUILTS.  It arrived just a few days after his birthday! It is spectacular. And can you believe I (mom) MISSED the whole event! I went to NYC for a special Christmas gift (saw a Broadway show) and THAT was the day the quilt arrived. I'd done such a good job keeping it as a planned secret that I even forgot to tell my husband! No one expected it, so apparently there was a lot of excitement when that postman showed up with a big box. On top of that, Sully's Granma and Granpa happened to drop by (a rare treat) -- so even they got to admire the handiwork of the teachers of Anderson Elementary School in Texas.

It is a music themed quilt. Sully loves composers and music -- especially orchestral/concert music. He studies the piano and listens to soundtracks each evening before bed. He likes to look up information on composers (with help) on the Internet and in the encyclopedia. We have read about Mozart and Hadyn and Bach and Williams, Horner and Elfman. Well, each quilt square is devoted to a composer whose name is written along with a cross-stitched instrument! Every square is different; it is done alphabetically! One of Sully's favorite composers is even there: Williams (John).  In the center is Sully's name. The script is SO COOL because it is made out of a staff-and-musical-notes design. Very clever and beautifully effective. Thank you ladies!!! It is also done with a very cozy-soft backing. I am amazed at the talent and love that went into the quilt. It is hard to think about or look at without getting choked up.
