Trevor D.'s Story
Written by Trevor's mom Danielle in June 2009

Trevor is a twin (brother to Chase, also brother to ^Angel^ Ryan) and was born on 1/1/09 at 28 weeks weighing 2 lbs 7oz. He had a difficult time as his lungs were very immature. He developed respratory acidosis on his 2 nd day and was put on a noninvasive mechanical ventilator. He stayed on the vent for many many weeks and needed two blood transfusions during his stay. He required antibiotics several times and his GI system was very slow to mature and he had trouble with it moving. We had to stop gut feeds twice and put him back on IV nutrition.  He was finally weened from all respriatory support 50 days after he was born. He had stage 1 retinopathy and had a very tough time keeping his body temperature properly. He suffers from allergies. He has a milk protein allergy and severe eczema. He requires special formula and increased calories to grow. Learning to bottle feed was difficult for him. He was discharged 78 days after he was born. He weighed 4lbs 12oz.  He had a rough few weeks at home with bottle feeding but is doing well. He has a wonderful disposition. He loves to cuddle and look at his toys.
